The Physics of Pie

What happens when you launch pudding in a trebuchet?  What velocity would the pudding travel?  We found out on 3.14 and used the Vernier Video Physics app to study the results.

App Description: Video Physics allows users to analyze their own videos of objects in motion, then plot the location frame by frame.  It then then draws trajectory, position, and velocity graphs for the object.

How We Use It: Plotting the location takes a little bit of time and guidance, so we will have videos pre-plotted for a demo. We can then show the video and the graphs to visitors as part of the interaction.  Interested visitors can make their own if they like.  Good talking points for those visitors who want to go more in depth, and great for integrating more math.
